How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new plan was to send money to my children in Monrovia to continue their education ie paying school fees, buying books, uniforms etc. My first plan was also help my father with some money to start renovating his house especially the roof. Life was not perfect because i was a daily hired burning coal for others,, i did this to take care of my children. GiveDirectly came and give us a smile because of their cash transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly do well by giving me phone, sim card and enrolling me for their cash transfers. Im so happy and want to take this time to say a big thank you to GiveDirectly.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am Lukeyatu Lamie from Beh town, Bomi county Liberia. Since I started receiving the cash transfer from Givedirectly, I decided to buy a mattress, phone and start a business. I still have the same goal and I am accomplishing my goals gradually through the cash transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I usually obtaining cash transfer on my mobile account from Givedirectly according to schedule and their staffs don't accept gift from anyone. I am not aware of anything that Givedirectly didn't do well in this village. I am so excited and want to extend thanks to Givedirectly and those that have contributed in helping the needed.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought five bags of rice, one bag of sugar, soap, milk, bread, and other items to expand my business.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was happy because, I have not received such money from anybody before. So I was happy when I received this money from give directly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At first, I could not afford money to buy phone. But through give directly program, I was able to get cell phone, sim card and all the hard work I used to do has reduced. I am going to school now to improve my life and I believe that this is a great opportunity to make use out of.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will use it to sell non-food items in my town to help my daughter and myself.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The past six months, I've been burning coal and getting some money and that have brought joy to me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am finding it hard to get money to cater to my daughter and myself. Right after the Ebola, my spouse at the time, wasted acid on me that made me disfigured and since that time, I have not gotten a spouse to help me to make farm so as to feed my daughter and myself. My mother who used to help me also die right after the incident.
