How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am very grateful that the cash transfers enabled me treat my sick wife. Before receiving the first cash transfer, my wife had developed a post natal complication during delivery. I was worried that I would have lost her because at that time her condition required a lot of money of which I did not have then. By God's grace, GiveDirectly chose to send me the cash transfers that saved my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GiveDirectly has done so great to send us cash transfers that have helped very many impoverished families. GiveDirectly has done only good things for the community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I am planning to spend UGX 1550000 on acquiring a motorcycle and the balance will be spent on food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have bought most of the household items( a bigger mattress, a bed, a bed cover and curtains) that I had longed for in life. Further more, I was in position to save the life of my wife because this money enabled me seek proper treatment and feed her well while in treatment. previously, I didn't have enough money to acquire these household items and I would have lost my wife I had I not received this money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy the moment I receive my money and thanked God because I had got money that would help me address my most pressing needs.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to pay for my wife's medical bills and buy foodstuffs. I also bought household items( utensils, mattress, bed, bed cover, curtains) and 2 piglets. I have not yet spent UGX 200,000 but I intend to spend it for purchasing bricks for building an iron roofed house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to build iron-roofed house for better acommdation. I do not have clear vision to concentrate repairing the house every year since it's normally destroyed by termites. My family almost sleeps in an open roof which is so unbearable thus Givedirectly transfers will help me solve this problem. Iam very sure of sleeping in adesent accomadation once I received this money.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is evening hours. Iam able to share plans with my spouse on how best we can divide labour at home to manage work like weeding, planting and causal labour. This has helped alot in maintaining life in our family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I meet is lack of money for maintaining my family. I have found it hard to access labour in people's gardens because of being blind. I feel rejected and hopeless hence I can not afford to provide basic needs like food in the family. My family members hardly take a meal in a day and they are really facing serious malnutrition which may result to death
