Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal, for now, is to buy building materials which I will use in putting up a kitchen. Right now the house I have is not that big to accommodate my family well and my children are growing up. They need their privacy which I cannot give them in the same house I live in. This is why I have decided to put up a kitchen to help in that.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Currently, my biggest difference is that I get money on a monthly basis. After the death of my husband two years ago, I had to step up in providing for the family. I did not have any source of income and had to do casual work and odd jobs in the village to get money to feed my family. As a result of that, I would only get money when I work. During the off-seasons, I would take long to get money because there was not work to be done to get paid. Since I started receiving these transfers, my life has really changed because I get money on a monthly basis. This helps me in budgeting well for my family and meeting most of my needs in time.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My life will be different in the next six months in that I will have bought all the materials for building a kitchen. My children are growing up and they need their privacy which is compromised when we stay in the same house. This is because they sleep in the living room. My desire is for them to have their own space and as well get a good cooking place. Currently, I am cooking outside which is affected a lot during the rainy season. I would want to handle the two issues once by building a kitchen with extra space for the children.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I am stress-free as I do not have to depend so much on relatives for any financial support. I can easily afford to buy food and clothes for my children. I was also favoured as I was able to save and ventured into livestock rearing to help in income generation for the family. This has been a faraway dream as I could not get the capital to start it up but GiveDirectly helped me fulfil that dream.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to save and buy building materials like iron sheets that I plan to use in building a new kitchen. My kitchen fell down during the rainy seasons as it was so old.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I saved some transfers and ventured into livestock farming to help in income generation for the family. I can sell the milk I get from the cows to get income to help in providing for my family i.e paying school fees for my children, buying food and also buy clothes for them too. I cannot Thank GiveDirectly enough for making this dream come true.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I look forward to having finished paying for the solar lamp and now my home is well lit. I expect to have bought the building materials that i have been saving towards and built the kitchen. I will be having a beautiful kitchen that will be the envy of the entire village.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The level of poverty in my household has reduced tremendously. I have no stress as I have better financial management. My family can afford to buy food three times daily, dressing in better clothes and even afford better medication and school fees for the children who now get to stay in school and study and ace their exams.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The additional goal that I have is that I look forward to saving to buy iron sheets that I plan to use in building a kitchen's roof. I had started building the kitchen but could not raise the money to buy the iron sheets.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I depend solely on farming to get income for my family upkeep. I ventured into large scale farming by leasing some two more farms to help raise the number of harvests I get. My family can sell the produce to get money to cater for our needs and also consume as our daily food. The last transfer was used to pay the casual labourers who worked on my farm. At the end of the year, I believe we will get a better harvest and as I said our lifestyle is bound to change to better.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to must have finished paying for the solar lamp I bought on hire purchase and also save more transfers to buy cement and sand to plaster my kitchen. I believe by the end of the six months my kitchen will stand out amongst the other ones in our village.
