Receiving this money means that I will buy 6 bags of maize of food for me and my family. I will be saving some money for daily relish, my favourites are chicken, fish and beef. Then I plan on buying a mattress for a comfortable sleeping place. Back in the days when my husband, Sanderson Jowadi, God rest his soul, was alive I used to sleep on mattresses and I miss that so I would like to relive those moments. These I plan on initiating the same day I receive the funds from GD.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am used to farming so even if I feel body pains I always wake up and head out to my maize field to work there. This is the only source of peace, quiet and joy in my life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am an old lady so I am frequently hit with different illnesses. These plus my weakened strength affect my productivity and provision for my family. Nowadays, I don't harvest as much from my maize field. This year I only got a 10 litres pail of maize for food and this was over within 2 days back in April. Since then I have relied on remittance for survival.
