How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has really changed because I no longer spent money to buy parrafin to lighting my house as l used to do before, since it was very expensive and yet i did not have stable source of income. I am also charging my phone with ease I do not need to go to the shopping centre to charge it.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give directly procedure is the best because they were giving money to the people who deserves it and there was no anything like corruption. Using empesa as away of sending money to people was also the best idea because it is very convenient and safe.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer on sugarcane farming where by spent the money to lease one and half hectares of land and at the same time spent the transfer to hire tractor to cultivate it since it was too big I could not cultivate it on my own. It is very unfortunate that the farm did not do well because of too much draught that season . I also spent the transfer to buy four bags of maize for my consumption since i did not get enough harvest last season because there was a lot of drought. I also spent the transfer to buy solar for lighting my house and at the same time I am using the solar to charge my phone. I was feed up of buying parrafin to light up my house since it was very expensive. I also no longer spent money to charge my phone at the centre as used to do before. The remaining balance I spent to buy radio for entertainment.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means business expansion. I plan to increase my stock of automobile and also invest in farming.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when digging my Shamba. This is where I got the money that I used in buying iron sheets for building my house.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life was lack of capital to invest in business. I am a mechanic but I can not do my work well because my customers have to go elsewhere to buy spare parts for automobile. This denies me the opportunity to get money.
