Yes, I had a new goal which was to buy some new beddings like a new bed and mattresses. For years I have been sleeping on the traditional beddings which I was always complaining of back pains. By am sure by having them would have been a great relief to me.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly has been doing a great job in my village in many ways. First, the money was sent directly into our Mpesa accounts and I was given all the freedom on how I would wish to spend it. This has powered us to own lots of livestock, build houses, send our children to schools, and even start up new businesses. On the other hand, I do not see any sector that GiveDirectly needs to improve on.

I spent part of my second transfer on buying three goats worthy of KES 10000. I have been yearning to have them for years but I couldn't afford them because of financial hardships. I settled for them because they take little time to mature as compared to other domestic animals. Also, I cleared school for my children and bought new uniforms which I am glad they are now studying peacefully without any hiccups. The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am hopeful and happier. I opted to purchase them because goats, always reproduce and mature faster compared to other livestock animals. This is a clear indication that I will have many of them within a short period. I am therefore planning to sell the offspring once they mature and the money will be helping me in paying school fees for my children. In addition to that, I will not be straining so hard in meeting my family's basic needs as I used to do previously when I depended on casual jobs with meager incomes (KES 150) in a day. Raising my seven children will now be easier courtesy of GiveDirectly.

Also, I bought a metal door KES 7000 which was to replace the wooded one which had worn out and I was always feeling insecure. With the remaining amount of money, I have been using it to buy enough foodstuffs for my family.
