How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Comparing my life now and how it would have been without receiving the transfers from GiveDirectly has a lot of differences. My life has really improved in many ways which would not have happened without these transfers. I now have livestock to keep, my children's school fees are cleared and also farming has improved. If I had not received these transfers, I would still be struggling with casual labor and even paying school fees would have led to selling the small piece of land we have. We are thankful to GiveDirectly for the much support they offered us.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, the work done by GiveDirectly in our village was well done. Everything went on well and we are very happy that we were given that freedom of using the transfer in any way we would wish. We managed to construct good houses, paid school fees and even improve on the agricultural sector.
We only have a feeling that the youth in the village would also have been included as the beneficiaries of the same project.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of the second transfer of the money I received from GiveDirectly on constructing a new grass-thatched kitchen which cost us 7600 KES. I spent 20000 KES of the remaining on buying a cow and also pay school fees with the remaining 25000 KES.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy to be among those who will receive these transfers. Now I can comfortably say that my dream-of my children finishing schooling and having my own dairy farm is awaiting actualization. Thank you very much GD.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest of the day is in the evening when I am back from casual work and carrying with me foodstuffs for my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I got a miscarriage on my first born child and this led to delay in conceiving another one. This brought some disunity between my husband and other family members threatening my marriage. I was mentally and physically affected by this and for me this is the biggest hardship I have ever experienced.
