What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase iron sheets, timber, bricks, nails, ground nut seeds, food, a cow, paid school fees and farming. I have not yet spent UGX 200,000 but I intend to spend it for paying construction workers and farming.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well to give me cash that I have used to construct and iron roofed house. GiveDirectly has not done for my bad.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I have constructed an iron roofed house that will relieve me from the burden of renovating my hut once I shift in it. In addition, I have got 3 acres of land that I have planted ground nuts and maize. Once harvest I will have good security in my home. Before receiving these transfers, I did have money to construct an iron roofed house and getting land for farming.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent my first transfer on purchasing building materials (brick 3 trips) worth UGX 650,000, renting piece of agricultural land worth UGX 800,000, bought solar worth UGX 150,000, household good ( curtain, 2 pairs of bed sheets). The recipient also spent on food which she could not remember the amount spent.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt happy. This is because it was my first time to hold such an amount of money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life has changed because I have got piece of agricultural land which I plan to cultivate (grow) cassava, g-nuts and maize. Previously, I had to just rent land to farm which was costly.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of agricultural land.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because I meet different people with ideas.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will build a bigger house that can accommodate me and the children and hire some land for agriculture.
