How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The greatest different in my life ever since Give Directly came into my life. I now have my own home where I can do my projects and even live happily with my family. I finally managed to move away from my parents' homestead. I feel independent which is a great achievement since no one in my village knew I would one day own a home. Apart from that I also bought food that lasted for a couple of days. I also planted some food crops that have also sustained us for a while. I can't thank this organization enough, I will continue praying for them so that they get more blessings and continue helping other people.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I believe that whatever they did in our village is historic. It transformed the face of our village tremendously. People built houses, took their children to school and bought livestock. The mode of operation is unique and it would be better if other institutions would emulate their projects and how they implement them.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the large portion of the second transfer that I received from Give Directly to build a new house. The one I use to live in was within my parents' homestead. I chose to build mine separately because I felt it was my greatest moment to implement what I was yearning for a while. I also bought some clothes for my children and used the remaining amount to buy food for my family. I am a single parent and receiving this help means a lot to me. I can't thank Give Directly enough for choosing me as one of their beneficiaries.
