How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that I got medical treatment after an operation. I renovated my grass thatched house and it leaks no more. In addition to that, I constructed an Iron roofed house on my plot. I intend to rent it out to students in a near-by school and it will generate income to the family. All these achievements have been possible because of the cash transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to sensitise us prior to receiving the transfers. They did well to give us unconditional cash transfers. There is no crime that GiveDirectly has committed.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying a cow worth UGX 800,000, and UGX 170,000 for buying gifts for my father. The balance of the money I used for completing the construction of the house that I had started with the first transfer.
