How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
When the program started, my goal was to improve my house because it was in very bad condition, every time rain falls the house gets wet because there were leakages in the roof but thank God because of GiveDirectly transfer, this goal has been achieved. My new goal is to keep supporting my two children in school until they can become independent.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by presenting this program to us in a straight and fair way, they have been so truthful in giving information about the program and the processes as well. I don't know anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well, everything is fine to me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I will use my most recent transfer to pay my two children's balance school fees so that they can have a clear record in the school, I will also use the remaining amount to add to my business so that it can generate more profit for me to keep supporting my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive the transfer, I will invest it into the business I am presently doing. Like now, I am engaged into coal business, but I do not have my own cash. I can go in the various towns and take the people coal for like 500.00 LD per bag, take it to Monrovia and sell it for 800.00LD. After deducting 200.00 as transportation, I bring their money, and the difference left is for me. So I have been wishing to have my own money and continue the business. With that, I will earn profit than now. Because I will buy the coal with cash instead of taking as credit from the people in the villages. So if I receive the cash, that will be a huge opportunity for me to continue the business in a way that I will earn more profits.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Yes, your presence in our town today brings happiness to me. We have been hearing about your presence in other communities especially around Ciss Town. For thT, we have been wishing to see you here. So for presence today in our community, I am very happy for that.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenge here for me is how to raise money to continue my business. Besides taking my customers coal to sell and bring their money back, nothing else here to get money. So because most time the customers demand cash, it can be very difficult for me to have cash to do business and other things that require cash.
