Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal is to continue saving in a merry go round so that I end up buying a small piece of land to add to the tea farm I have. I will use the farm on producing tea leaves. I am targeting to have this farm so that school payment for my children will continue with their education well because I will able to pay their school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is in that I bought a dairy cow using the money I had saved in a merry go round group. When I got my chance to receive the money from my group, I decided to buy a cow for milk production for food and also for sale. At this time, the money from selling the milk is helping to take care of my poultry. I bought a large wire mesh to expand the size of the poultry structure to accommodate more chickens. In the long run, I am going to be learning more
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will have bought livestock to keep. I will use the money from my merry go round group to buy some cattle. I will buy some oxen that I will rear, grazing them in the nearby Mau forest where there is plenty of water and grass. They will have sufficient forage and grow quickly. I hope to be able to sell the cattle in the future and use the money to buy more land. Having more farmland that I will grow tea will give me a good income.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Being a farmer, I always work hard to improve my farming to increase my returns. I practice mixed farming and in the next four months, my new goal is to buy a dairy cow. I am certain that this will enable us to have more milk for both household use and sales to meet family needs. This will cut off my daily household expenditure.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I majorly depend on subsistence mixed farming to earning a living and support my family. Even though I put a lot of efforts in these practices, my returns had never been good enough to meet my family's needs. This had always put my family at risk of food shortage year in year out due to subsequent low returns. I felt demoralized of this but couldn't do anything to improve. In the last four months preceding my current transfer, the biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been empowered to improve my poultry farming 80 birds that give me at least 40 eggs per day which translates to KES400 a day. I am currently self-employed running my own farm at my own pace enjoying higher returns than before. I have been able to meet my family needs easier than before courtesy of poultry farming.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect a happier life since I will have expanded my poultry farming. I will have a better income through egg sales thus meeting my daily household needs will be easier. I also expect to have bough a dairy cow thus milk will not be of stress again since will produce them at my farm.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal is to put up a tea nursery and develop more tea seedlings. Some of these will be planted and on my farm and I will sell the rest for an income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I am now a proud owner of a dairy cow. I was able to join a savings group when we started receiving these transfers and when I had saved enough money, I bought a cow. I am happy that the cow is a few weeks from calving and I am excited that we would have enough milk for home use and the rest will be sold for an income. I also have a few chicken that I rear. I usually ensure that I buy at least two chicken whenever I receive the monthly transfer and I am glad that the number currently stands at twenty-four (24). The eggs produce are sold and the proceeds are enough to meet some of our basic needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to buy an extra piece of land. To do this, I want to venture into tea seedlings development by the use of a tea nursery. I will plant some of these seedlings in my farm and sell the rest to my villages. The proceeds thereof will help me acquire a piece of land. The current piece we are currently staying in is quite small and my children will need somewhere to develop themselves. This will reduce the conflicts that usually results from limited resources.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different from how it was before I started receiving transfers from Give Directly. I no longer strain my self by doing casual jobs. Initially, I would do more than two casual jobs in order to meet my daily needs, It used to be hectic because we would work very hard and paid very little. I am happy that is no longer the case; I no longer do casual jobs. I supplement my income with the money I get from selling the produce I get from my own farm. I feel I am more energetic and healthier because I do not overwork myself as I used to when I depended on casual jobs. I am now fully concentrated on my farm.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to buy an additional cow after the first one has given birth. I will do this by selling the calf after two years. I am already saving the money I get from the casual jobs, I will combine the savings and the money I get after selling the calf then buy another cow. I also want plant tea seedlings that are in the nursery. Once I am done with all these I now I believe I will be able to provide for my self and my family. I want to ensure that I maximize the returns on agricultural investment because one can never go wrong in this sector.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I am now a proud farmer. I now own a cow and a few chicken. Before, I did not have any of these. I bought the cow after saving the transfers I got from Give Directly. I took me several months before I had the right amount to buy the dairy cow. I also extended the kitchen house using the monthly income plus the casual jobs that I occasionally did. I also managed to put up a tea nursery with close to five thousand seedlings. I am planning to plant them once they are mature enough. I am sure this tea plantation will serve me for the rest of my life. I thank Give Directly for giving me the support to be able to buy the seedlings and achieve the other goals.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to buy a piece of land. The one I am in now is not enough to run all the agricultural activities that am planning to do. Once I plant the tea seedlings, I will start working towards this goal. I know the tea leaves will generate enough profits that will help me buy a piece of land within a short period of time. I believe all these are happening because Give Directly gave me a foundation to start from. I am grateful that I got a helping hand at the right time and I am very hopeful for better future.
