Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Our next goal is to combine our transfers with the intention of spending it on the medication of our children. One of my children suffers from a condition which bends her arms. This has been worrying me since treating it has been very expensive and it doesn't seem to be getting better because we have not been consistent due to lack of enough money. I hope that these transfers will enable me to pay for her medication and solve this permanently.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Since I started receiving the transfer from Give Directly, my life has never been the same. I am a farmer and I depend on the sales of my crops in order to feed my family. I have been able to invest in crops that mature within a short period of time. I managed to do all these after I got assistance from Give Directly. I recently planted beans and potatoes which are doing well so far. I am looking forward to a good harvest since I had all the necessary requirements that would guarantee me proper growth of the crops.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I believe that my child will have received treatment and will be well like other normal children. This will make me happy as a parent because she will never feel isolated from her peers. I normally get hurt when I see other children avoiding her. They usually don't want to play with her and it breaks me to the core. It had started affecting her self esteem which was not a good thing at all. For her to regain her posture is the greatest difference in my life

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I currently have enough food for the family due to advance farming. I do plough my farm at the right time because I have the money to pay the workers and also to buy seeds and fertilizers. This has enabled me to get a good harvest every season because of the right timing and money to do the work. My children have enough food to eat we no longer spend money to buy food like we used to do before. I sell the surplus at the market to meet other basic household goods and also to pay school fees for my children and are no longer sent home to collect school fees like before. I used to be late on planting my farm because I did not have the tools and money to buy the seeds and fertilizers that were required at that particular time. This resulted in a poor harvest and my family could not get enough food to eat. We could spend a lot of money to buy food at the market which was so costly for us. Currently, we live in a different standard because of the change GiveDirectly has brought into our family.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different because I have managed to run my subsistence farming well this planting season. I used the money to hire a tractor to plough the land and bought fertilizer and maize seeds. I have just planted the crops in the last five days. I am expecting them to do well because the land preparation was carried out well and the planting was timely. I usually miss growing my crops at the correct time because of lack of money to buy the inputs which have been leading to huge loses as I get a meager harvest. This time around, It is going to be a bumper harvest.
