How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I have a constant source of income from the poultry project. The income is enough to cater for my family basic needs and I no longer struggle to provide for my family as I used to do in the past when I used to depend on little money I got from casual jobs. I also have a spacious house which can accommodate all my family members and my sons no longer sleep with their neighbor since they have a house to sleep now.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly does well by sending money directly to the recipients and I do not see anything that it does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer to buy building materials such as cement and sand. When I received my first transfer I started building a new house since I was living in a small house and could not accommodate all my family members comfortably. My sons used to go to sleep with my neighbors and this was embarrassing. When I build the new house my sons can now sleep in the house which we use to live in the past and we moved to the new spacious house. I am now happy since my sons can now sleep comfortably and they no longer go to sleep with my neighbor.

Receiving this money means that I will rear more chicken which will help me satisfy the basic needs.I feel very excited.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is because at this time I am done with the day's activities and I can relax and have a chat with either my family or friends.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is lack of a reliable source of income.Long before I married I started a small business of buying and selling maize.Due to the unreliable weather patterns and crop diseases, the business collapsed.I had to train myself on carpentry through apprenticeship.Though it seems to be a better source of income,it still does not satisfy the family's basic needs.
