How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I can proudly say that currently I have a loot of items that I never had before I started receiving the cash transfers from the organization. For instance, I have already bought a cow and the birds I mentioned about which I now rear within my compound expecting to get future financial benefit from them when they eventually mature. Apart from that, I also bought a nice sofa-set which my family will be using very comfortably as opposed to sitting on the old furniture we had before. I
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I believe that the organisation has really been helping the needy in the community who had nothing in terms of assets. There are those who never had even seats in their houses but today i can see good houses furnished with beautiful furniture, which according to me is a positive change.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfer on buying a cow that was sold to me at a cost of 15000 KES. I also bought some chicken that were sold to me at a price of two thousand shillings. I bought the livestock because I want to rear them because I know that I will derive financial benefit from them in the unforeseeable future when things get thick in terms of finances. The rest of the money helped me in doing the final finishing touches on my house which took a lot of money and effort.
