How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently, my life has changed in that I am a respected in law because I have completed payment of bride price. Secondly, I am happy because I make daily income through my business to support my family. Prior to receiving this cash transfer, there was a lot of disrespect from my in laws because I hadn't fulfilled this traditional obligation and besides, it was difficult to earn even $1 a day.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well to give unconditional cash transfer that has enabled me to authenticate my marriage through payment of bride price. I do not find faults in GiveDirectly's operations.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I paid UGX 1100000 of my second transfer to my in laws and bought food for the day. In our culture, a man is expected to give some animals to the girl's family as appreciation for proper up bringing of their daughter. Part of the money, I spent on starting up a small scale business that is supporting my family meet daily needs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will buy cows and build small sloped iron-roofed house. I shall give my in-laws cows as dowry since I have not yet married customarily.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is morning, l wake up and greet my spouse while asking about each others health conditions.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face currently is poverty. I do not have money to fulfill my family's and personal needs like better shelter ,food and good clothing.
