What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very glad to be part of this program. This money will enable us to fulfill our ambitions we had but failed to materialize due to lack of money. For example, we have always been struggling with our house as the grass roof leaks a lot during rainy seasons. Even our income has not been enough to sustain ourselves throughout the year.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Although there have been many challenges to us as a family, our children have been passing with flying colours at school. Even our business of selling charcoal and bananas has been very great too. This brings happiness to us as a family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges that we usually encounter are lack of good beddings especially in winter, farming equipment such as hoes, fertilizer and also renovating our house. All this was affecting how we produce food as few hoes mean less hands to finish up our gardens quickly. Children too also help in farming but where there are less hoes to use, then some are always idle. We also depend on subsidized fertilizer although it is never enough. Our house is not strong enough to withstand heavy rains and winds. This has been worrisome as we approach the rainy season. Hence this program has come at the right time to help us in most of these problems.
