How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I can pay school fees for my children easily and they get to have ample time studying in school and passing their exams. My family can also buy healthy food on a daily basis unlike when we could only afford one meal a day due to unstable income sources. Lately, I started to save my transfers and other earnings towards starting up a project to help me raise income for the family. This will be the main income-generating activity in my household.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a goal of saving and starting up a business to help in the generation of income for my family
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The transfer really helped me at my point of need. I fell sick and was admitted to the hospital and my bill shot from zero to a hundred, so I added the transfer to other savings I had and some contributions I received from my relatives and settled the hospital bill. I cannot be grateful to GiveDirectly enough for saving my life. That is the biggest difference in my daily life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have saved the transfers and started the business which will be the main source of income for my family. We will earn income from it to buy food for daily consumption, pay school fees for my children and also buy them clothes.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have paid school fees for my child who can now stay in school and concentrate on the studies. I fell sick and got admitted so I used the transfer to pay my hospital bill. I now feel better and can go about my day-to-day commitments. I bought a sheep that I plan to rear for financial security.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have been without fishing tools for so long so I plan to buy my own tools so that I stop working for someone else.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to pay school fees for my child who now gets to stay in school and concentrate on the studies. I have been using transfers to pay for my children's school fees on time. I earn so little from my casual work that only caters only for our daily food.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I wish to venture into livestock farming by buying more livestock for rearing as a financial security of my family. I wish to buy fishing tools to equip me so that I stop working for someone and depend on my self-employment to raise income for my family.I expect to pay school fees for my child who will sit his exams the end of year.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in that, I can now pay school fees for my children and even provide food for them with much more ease thanks to the transfers. Initially, I used to engage in casual work which was so tiresome yet was not sustainable. I thank God I no longer have to struggle too much to earn a living.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to finish paying an installment that I had left halfway while purchasing a cow from my immediate neighbor. Once that is done, I will enjoy all the products from the cow. I can use the milk and even sell some for income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I am a single parent, my wife left for the city (Nairobi) and has never come back. She left me with the responsibility of raising our children. This has not been easy because I am a casual worker but my earning is not enough to sustain my household but ever since I started receiving transfers, the burden has been made lighter. I used the money I received recently to pay school fees for my children as well as upkeep for my household.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect that in the next six months, I will have built a kitchen which will double up as my children's room. This will solve the problem that we currently are in where they have to sleep in the living room. They find it uncomfortable and they have consistently complained of lack of privacy as well.
