How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in such a way that I still find it like a dream. This is because the transfers enabled me to buy some dairy cows which are now my dependable assets. I never thought of having them anytime soon because they are expensive. I managed to pay school fees in advance fo, my children. I was so stuck and I had no idea where I will get the required fees for the next term. This is now assuring me of their bright future because they are now studying without any difficulties. I am so thankful to GiveDirectly for the financial support they offered me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirecty did a splendid job in my village. This because the money was sent directly to our accounts and given the opportunity to choose what to do. This ade me to own the dairy cows and also pay9ing school fees for my children. My family is now healthy because we take three mals like the rest courtesy of GiveDirectly. I will forever be grateful to GiveDirectly for coming to my village.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer on buying a pair of oxen at KES 44000. I then bought some pieces of iron sheets to renovate my house which had some grass-thatched roof. We were always rained on during the winter seasons at KES 7500. I used to seek shelter from friends almost every rainy season and this was so stressful. The remaining amount of money, I used it in buying some foodstuffs for my family and some other basic needs which include clothes any more.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The transfer enabled me to acquire some things that I couldn't afford at my own cost. Firstly, through this money, I was able to purchase 22 pieces of iron sheets and nails in order to renovate my house roof because it was dilapidated and leaking during rains. Secondly, I now own a pair of oxen, courtesy of GiveDirectly. I am glad that when the planting season comes, then I will plough the whole of my farm on time for better harvests. I feel these two achievements makes up the biggest difference in my daily life.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I saw the transfer message in my phone and when I read it, I realized that I had received some money. I was filled with happiness on receiving money from GiveDirectly, because the things that seemed impossible for me to achieve were now possible and could be realized. I am happy for this financial assistance.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of the first transfer on purchasing 22 pieces of ironsheets in order to renovate my house because the roof was dilapidated and leaking always during the rain season. I replaced the old iron sheets with the new ones. I also spent KES 22000 to purchase a pair of oxen which will be aiding me in my farming. This will boost my farming practice since having oxen to us means that I can comfortably plough my whole farm timely and early enough to catch up with the rains which sometimea are unpredictable. I spent the remaining amount to pay for my children's school fees so as for them to continue with studies without any hindrance. Lastly, I also spent the money to pay for my household basic needs and fulfilling my household expenses without much struggle.
