My new goals for the next four months is to buy a dairy cow. This will cut the cost of buying milk.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have to build a better and spacious house for my family. I depend on casual jobs in the village to earn an income from these jobs was not enough to buy building materials to build a house. I used to live in someone's house because I did not have the money to build my own. It was not comfortable living in someone's house with the family was so stress up. Currently, I have my own house, my spouse and children are very happy.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have a dairy cow and I will no longer buy milk. I will also sell the surplus milk to earn an income.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that these transfers have enabled me to buy a young bull so that I can rear it and sell it for a dairy cow and iron sheets for a new house because the current one is flooding.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to live a comfortable life after building a new house and buying a dairy cow and I am going to work harder in order for my my kids go to school.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different because it has changed faster than I thought and I can now make better decisions than before.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I am planning to add another heifer and to complete construction of new house which are the products of these transfers.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I have faced in my life is that I lacked money when my wife was delivering our second born child back in 2008. I had to sell some of my assets such as livestock and trees so that I could pay for their hospital bills. Since then, I have never had an opportunity to buy a cow for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am taking supper with my family. This makes me happy because I feel that I have fullfilled my duty as a parent.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
When I receive my transfers, I am planning to use part of the money to build a better house because my current house is leaking. My children are really suffering because the rains have been too much and my house is sometimes flooded
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The greatest achievement that I am proudest of is that despite my leaking house, my children are in good health and I have always worked hard in my farming so that I can provide for my family
