Before I received these transfers, I had nothing at all and now I am happy and living a better life because I have livestock. My new house will also help me live a life without worry because it will be iron roofed will not leak unlike the thatched house I am still living in.

I think their work is good the officers were okay. There is nothing negative I have noticed.

I bought 2 cows worth 30,000/- which I can sell again in future when I am in need of money. I aso bought iron sheets and nails worth 10,300/- which I will use to build another house. The house I am currently living in is poorly ventilated and it is thatched. Getting grass for replacement has been a challenge. I bought a goat worth 2500/-. The goat is like my savings because I would have wasted the entire amount. I have been using the rest to buy timber and food for my family.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that the transfer has enabled me to buy a pair of oxen that I have desired to own for a long time. Previously I had no oxen and I had to hire from neighbors which was costly to me. Also, I could not manage to cultivate a bigger acreage which always led to food insecurity as it would not last us long. With the pair, I am assured of early cultivation and increase acreage for abundant yields.

I was woken up by a message notification on my phone early in the morning. On checking to confirm who the sender was, the message was from GiveDirectly informing me that my first transfer had finally been sent. I was filled with happiness at that instant and I am thankful to GiveDirectly for fulfilling their promise to us.

I spent part of my first transfer on buying a pair of oxen and three goats to keep as assets in my compound. The pair of oxen will be aiding me in my farming purposes because previously I was using tools which were ineffective and tiresome such that I could not cultivate a bigger acreage. Hiring from neighbors was also costly to me due to financial constraints and this created the desire in me to have my own pair. Through the transfer, my desire has been fulfilled and the pair will enable me to increase the acreage of my arable land and to ensure that I do early and timely cultivation for maximum yields. I am also hopeful that my three goats will reproduce and increase in number and I will be able to sell in order to meet my future financial needs. Apart from the livestock I purchased, I spent the remaining transfer on doing a shopping for the family by buying enough foodstuffs that will take us much longer and meeting other basic necessities .
