Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was a normal day for me when i recieved the money. I was working on my veranda sawing clothes in the morning hours. I was happy and excited when i recieved the money that i left right away to go withdraw my money to start replacing my roof.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Right now my home has changed. I now have a house that is complete with a roof. I wake up happy everyday knowing that i nolonger have to worry about buying grass come the rainy season.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am a tialor by profession and it is from this that i find my basic needs like food, money to go the maize meal with and other needs like sugar and salt. Apart from being a tailor, i am aslo a farmer and i mainly farm for food which is mainly growing maize. I was able to build a three roomed house with grass for a roof as this is what i could afford. When i recieved the money from the programme, i saw this as an opportunity to buy 20 iron sheets and 2 bags of cement to replace the grass roof that i have with a iron roof which will not need maintaining every year.
