Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy to receive the money, infact I went outside and started singing and dancing with children, I have a radio so I made sure the volume was very loud to marry how happy I was. As I was dancing, one thing was obvious in my head that I have now what I was waiting for. We were waiting for the money and to see it in my account was just a different feeling. The feeling went further to thinking what I am going to buy that I have been longing and envying for years.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Now I should not hide, life is different. I leave a fulfilled life knowing that I have found things that I mostly envied. Thanks to give directly for such an opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been leaving in thatched house for so long before this opportunity. Hence it was very clear to me that I needed Iron sheets, bed, and good blankets for my self and children. Leaving in a grass thatched house was not fun at all because as the rainy season approaches you are sure that the roof will leak hence spoiling food and livelihood.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I would use this money to renovate my house for example I would buy cement and iron sheets. I would also use the money to buy clothes because I also want to look good.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The only happy moments in these few past months was during Christmas and new year. I prepared chicken and rice for my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have enough maize but I do not have enough relish. I sell tomatoes as a source of money but it is still not enough to buy all the needs at home
