Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The money reached my phone around 4pm on a Thursday. Alot of my friends had received their transfers earlier that day and I was worried that mine was not yet in. The moment the money came to my phone I felt relieved and happy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I am now eating all three meals a day. The mood in my home has changed as now we are eating. My children are going to school on a full stomach and this is such a great change.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have bought 34 pieces of iron sheets and 4000 bricks. I have also bought 4 bags of maize. Honestly speaking my family did not have food because we harvested very little maize. The house I live in is very small so next year is when I will build bigger house fitting for my family of 8.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money would help me to build a house and buy iron sheets to give my family a comfortable place to sleep in. I would also buy mattress, clothes for me and my children and food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am the happiest in the evening. It is the time I get together with my family after going to seek piece of works during the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I have faced is long-termillness. I developed ulcers in my stomach which started in 2016. The illness makes me choose the type of food to eat.I am not supposed to eat most legumes which are mostly available locally. The situation has only improved this year.
