How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly transfer I always had the dream of building my own house to move out of my sister's house with my family. But the little earnings from the cassava farming was never enough for said project. Therefore since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly I decided to used most of my transfers to built my own house. With that said, I have been using my transfers and buying some building materials such as zinc, roofing nail, planks, and zinc nail. With these materials on hand, my building project will be starting very soon. I'm very excited and grateful to be a part of this unique opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly did extremely well for us. Most of us never had the thought of ever raising money to built our own house. But with the help of GiveDirectly financial assistance we are very grateful that very soon we will become house owner. This financial opportunity that GiveDirectly brought in our community will never be forgotten in my our lives. They have impacted us the needy so much. What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving my recent transfer, with my hope and dream to built my own house, I used a portion of the money and bought additional two bundles of zinc. Additionally I used a portion of the money to pay the contractors. The balance money will be spend on food items for the workers. This dream of building a my own had been very challenging for me due to lack of cash. I am very happy that GiveDirectly came with this financial freedom.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal has been to build my house. However, my recent transfer I am planning to invested all in my building construction by purchasing some building materials.

In my mind GiveDirectly did well because they give me money to improve my life. I have not seeing anything that GiveDirectly did not do well with.

My plan has been to build my house which I am working on, once I withdraw my recent transfer I will put all of it on my house.

In my mind GiveDirectly is doing well because I am receiving money to build my house and do something for my self. I have not seeing anything bad yet about GiveDirectly.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting right in my chicken when the message came. First, I thought it was lonestar regular message so I didn't bother myself to open it but after few minutes, I decided to see the message that came on my phone when I open my phone, I saw this Give Directly situations changing message. I was very happy and felt free from poverty.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Life is easy for me and my family now. We are living a very happy Life. At least my dream of building my own house is coming to reality. What does receiving this money mean to you?
We are farmer by birth, my family is known for good farming, But due to the hardship we can't afford to buy seed or other materials to improve the farm. Getting this transfer will help us to improve our farm and get some processed to improve our farm.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Last month January, I was able to get money to sponsor the brushing of our large. Getting that money was my biggest concern and worry, till now I'm still glad to complete that task because I have means of feeding my family this entire year.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We can't afford eating good food for good health and better life, we sleep in thatched roof house that leaks so much, and we can't afford to send our children to school after getting to know how education is very essential.
