I thank GiveDirectly for their financial support. I had lived a stressful life since I felt I wasn't in a position to support my family. I had nothing to own as assets in my homestead and the scarce recourse couldn't allow me to acquire any. Having a dairy cow and clearing for my child's school fees to me is a great change in my life. I am the happiest person since I believe that once my dairy cow reproduces, they increase in number. I am assured that I will be able to sell the offsprings in the future to support my family's needs and any financial need arising such as educating my children. I will soon have milk for both sales and household consumption thus will have some money to save unlike now where I only spend on.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well in uplifting our lives which were miserable before enrollment. We have been able to provide for our families effectively, purchasing livestock as assets and most importantly, building better iron-roofed houses thus enjoying good shelter. I do not see anything that GiveDirectly does not do well

I had bought some building material s using my first transfer and I steel needed some few thus I spent KES25000 of my second transfer to bring the remaining materials and to pay the carpenter for construction. Thank you give directly, I currently live under and iron-roofed decent house. As a way of investing part of the transfer, I took KES17000 to buy a heifer. I feel i made the right decision to buy it since I expect it to calve soon thus have milk to sell and household consumption. I am soon I will have offspring from to increase my herd. In addition, I spent the remaining amount on my family's basic needs ranging from clothing to the household's daily basic needs.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a dairy cow. I used to buy milk from my neighbors and it was costly for me. I do casual jobs in the village and the amount of money I get from just jobs cannot gather for all the basic needs of my family. currently, I have enough milk for my family and I sell the surplus at the shopping center. I used the money to buy basic needs and also pay school fees for my children in primary school. I saved some amount in the merry go round group that we have started in our village to gather for the emergency and school fees.

The moment I received the money felt so happy. I remember it was very early in the morning. When I checked the message I did not believe my eyes because I have never received such amount of money before. I knew I would be able to buy a dairy cow to cut the cost of buying milk which has always been my bigger problem.

I spent my first transfer on buying a dairy cow, food for the family and the rest of the money I used it to buy three hens and clothes for children.
