How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, my self esteem has been boosted because I now own an ox that I can combine with my neighbour to enable us to plough land for crop cultivation.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through funding activities that individuals wanted to implement like me, I have bought a bull to support in farming. I do not see what GiveDirectly had not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 950000 to support in opening land for crop cultivation. I bought a mattress and a bed which costed UGX 330000. I treated my child worth UGX 30000.The balance of UGX 322000, I spent it on feeding.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I can now afford food for my family even during the dry season yet it has not been easy for at this time of the year because food is very scarse and expensive.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I felt so happy because it was an opportunity for me to settle the debt that had bothered me for long.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used my first transfer for purchasing two cows at UGX 800,000, two goats at UGX 220,000. I also bought kitchen utensils, clothes, a bag for my wife and food. I have saved UGX 400,000 for any emergency and for buying food.

Receiving this money is means of me using that money for paying my family debt.

The happiest part of my day is morning when I get up in the morning and all the neighbours are well and no one has died.

The biggest hardship which I face in my life is debt .
