What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this cash transfer, I will use some to build my own house, pay my children school fees and invest the balance into business to keep my family up.
My main source of income to sustain my family and pay my children school fees is burning charcoal for sale which can not meet all of our needs. My husband divorced me about ten years now, I have been doing everything for myself and my children but it's really hard being a single mother responsible for home up keep.
Where I live present belongs to my late grand mother and the structure is in a deplorable condition and it becomes horrible during rainy season. I really want my life improved, so if I receive this cash transfer I will start a business and send my children to school...
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months what has brought joy or happiness in my life was mostly in June to August 2021 when my sister tells me to keep in her shop to sell her goods until she returns from Monrovia because that's when I receive some money from her to get food to feed my children as a single mother.
The presence of Givedirectly within our Town also has given me much Joy because I am from there my life with take up to another level.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenges I am facing currently is money.
I live in a house that is wearing away and I have been living here in this house for many years since my grandmother passed away. I have not been really comfortable being here, we were two living here before but the other lady had to leave because of the condition of the house.
I am into a charcoal business but my earnings are not enough to cover most of my family needs. My sister in the next owns a shop and when she leaves to buy goods in Monrovia, she usually asked me to take over the sales until she returns and that's how sometimes she helps me get food.
I will really appreciate a help that will improve my livelihood.
