What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I used to work as a casual labourer in town to support my 3 children education. Unfortunately, this job contributed to chest pains, which now prevents me from working and provide for my for them. Since I fell ill, we have not had any source of income and my children could not continue with secondary education. My health issues is the biggest challenge I'm currently facing.
What is the happiest part of your day?
A few years ago, my family struggled with food insecurity as our crops were often destroyed by rains due to our location, we live along the river. However, this year we managed to harvest enough food which can sustain us for 2 months. The food security has brought happiness to my family of five.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
My desire has been to practice livestock keeping. I am planning to invest in goat rearing because they multiply quickly, which will help generate income for my family of 5 members. Right now, I'm unable to work and need a way to provide for my children's school fees. I plan to spend $400 to buy 8 goats. I'll also use $ 300 of the money to repair the roof of my house, which leaks during the rainy season, and the rest to pay for my children's education.
