How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had never received cash transfers because my status has changed since I have acquired basic necesities and built a better house for my household members to sleep in. Before, we were cooking and sleeping in the same house but now we have different houses for cooking and sleeping.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done well through economic empowerment by giving unconditional cash transfers to poor people in the rural villages. On the other hand, Give Directly should continue sensitizing the beneficiaries after receiving transfers on proper usage.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer, I used it all for building a semi permanent house that is better than the grass thatched one I was sleeping and cooking in at the same time.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is to having got these transfers that have made me so happy. Looking at how my life was without money and no one to support me. I now have no more worries about my life.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money I felt so so happy that up to now, I still have the very joy that I had when I got that transfer.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy a plot of land at 1,000,000 ugx. People used to chase me from their homes as I used to move from home to home in search for shelter. I had no place of my own then my father gave me a place to stay. When I got my transfer, buying my land was a priority. I also spent part my first transfer to buy 2 basins at 16,000 ugx because the ones I had were old and broken. They could not hold water for long since they used to leak. I also bought a flat iron at 25,000 ugx to iron my clothes as people used to laugh at me for having wrinkled clothes. I am also planing to buy a cow at 150,000 ugx. This cow will be like my investment for the future. My father had given me a place to stay but no food. Therefore I decided to use part of my transfer to buy food for feeding myself, bought clothes for myself as people used to say I smell a lot with one pair of clothes. I now can also change and feel at home wit other people.
