What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have been planning to extend my kitchen such that an extra room is created. The extra room will serve as a bedroom for the girls. This will cost me approximately Ksh 15,000.I am also planning to invest more on agriculture.I have a share of two acres of land at home which I am planning to cultivate for the first time.My children are growing big and more money is needed for their school fees and other needs. This means that I need to expand my sources of income hence the need for this. This will involve many activities of land preperation and planting. We have a challenge of lighting our house because the battery which used to power our solar panel is dead.In that case I will buy a battery strong enough to power the solar panel. This will help my children study during the night.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening.Working all day around my farm is very tiresome.I have to look after the cows, chicken and even sometimes work in the farm.Evening comes as a relief for me since it is usually my time to relax.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
When I was newly married I lived with my in laws in their ancestral land.My father in law was very tough such that we couldn't even farm on the piece of land.We depended on the little that my husband got from his teaching job.It reached a point that we were forced to move out so that we could start an independent life.Sometimes we skipped meals due to lack of money.I had to do casual jobs which payed very little. We finally combined our savings and bought 0.3 acres of land.It has been a long journey to where I am now.Raising up the kids has been a very tough task.
