I spent UGX520,000 on treating my child. I also purchased construction materials worth UGX800,000. I am spending the balance of the cash transfer to buy food and pay the builders.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well to physically visit the people directly and speaking to them directly. However, GiveDirectly staff sometimes some people out of jealous report other community members. I encourage GiveDirectly to always investigate and collect concrete information before terminating anyone.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
had I not received the cash transfer, I would be homeless without a house. My life has really changed alot and I am very happy. I can also afford to buy other basic necessities because GiveDirectly empowered me.
