How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I could never received the transfer I could not have managed to invest in farming and I could have hard time when my daughter will be joining secondary school, but now I am very happy because I have managed to invest in farming and I am very sure of getting enough money out of it and spend the money to pay school fee for my children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly well is by recruiting people in a very transparent way and they were never corrupted in their process. They are also did well by training people before they started any operation. I did not see anything that they did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I Spent most of the transfer to lease 1 hectare of land and bough seeds that I have planted in the land. I did it as a way of saving money because my daughter is soon joing secondary school come next year and I will need a lot of money to pay her school fee. I am very sure in one months time I will have harvested my sugarcane and I will get enough money which will enable me pay school fee for my children without too much struggle. I spent the transfer to buy television since I want to be updated with what was happening within our country and around the world. I also spent the transfer to buy soil and renovated my house since it was in a bad condition and it was almost falling down I am glad I am now staying in a nice house. The remaining balance I spent to buy solar for lighting my house since I was tired of buying parrafin to light my house every now and then. Tin lump was also not convenient for my children when they are doing their studies.
