My hope is to buy a 2 acre piece of land for my children . It costs $1200 and I have only paid $150 .I'm so worried because the owner is on my neck for me to complete it's payment . I had even wanted to sell my cow to pay for it but the amount is way too little to make a difference . I have to clear school fees balance for my children and that is what I'm concentrating on right now . I really do not know how I will pay this debt , I even regret why I started paying for that land .

Give Directly has helped people in this village : People were suffering so much . Children were not going to school because of school fees balances . People didn't have decent houses . But you came and made all that possible. You gave us free money and we used it according to our needs. You even brought peace in this village because people who owed others were able to repay them . People have been able to build decent houses using your money . The only thing you can improve is to please be sending your messages to us in Kiswahili , I cannot understand English ,so when you send in Kiswahili , I'll be able to understand . I do not have a stable source of income . I used to sell small tilapias and groceries but my husband stopped me from doing it .Nowadays I just do subsistence farming , I also dig for people at a small fees when need arises . My husband is a butcher in Mombasa town . We both struggle to fend for our family . I used $370 to pay school fees for my son who is in secondary school and $30 for my 4 children who are in primary school . I spent $18 on 1 bale of maize flour because there was no food in my house . My thatched roof kitchen had already collapsed and I had no where to cook from . So I bought 10 iron sheets worth $75 and 4kgs of nails worth $12 . I topped up the balance and paid labour for my new kitchen to be constructed . Without this transfer , I couldn't have done all these , maybe I could even be cooking from outside .

I had left my phone to charge while working on my farm. A neighbour came to me and asked whether I had received money from GiveDirectly. I sent my son to check the phone and whether there was such a message on the phone. I was amused when I found out the transfer had been sent and I was not aware of it. I felt happy and planned for the transfer and prepared a nice meal that evening to celebrate with my family first.
