What did you spend your third transfer on?
I am planning to construct a semi-permanent house of 18 iron sheets and I have bought them (iron sheets) already with my third transfer. I can't wait to see the house complete by August this year since my current house is just daunting-it is a tiny grass-thatched house that can't allow us live more comfortably since it is leaky and poorly ventilated.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed a lot. I never had any source of income but currently we have one. We run a taxi business with a motorcycle that we bought with the transfer and therefore affording our basic needs is no longer such a big challenge. Besides this, I have acquired more wealth ranging from cows, goats and sheep and therefore I am no longer vulnerable to financial difficulties. And therefore if it were not transfers from Give Directly, I wouldn't have achieved this improved living standard.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, what Give Directly did well was visiting everyone to evaluate their status as opposed to being biased to a few individuals however, the time duration of interaction and contact with us which was less than a year seemed to be very short.
