My new goal is to buy more chicken after the ones I had died due to viral infection and only remained with sixteen. I look forward to adding more so that I can sell more eggs hence being able to meet my family's daily needs since I depend on manual jobs which cannot sustain us.

In my opinion, Givedirectly did well by enabling us to achieve our dreams which we didn't know we would achieve one day. In addition, polite officers made the enrollment process smooth since they were open and approachable.

Upon receipt of the second transfer, I had a budget of building a spacious two-roomed house because the one I had before was located in a swampy place hence it could flood during the rainy season hence affecting our health. With Kshs.33,000 I bought all building materials and the house is now complete and we have already moved in. At the moment I was struggling to pay fees arrears for my sibling to enable her to study. Paid Kshs.8,000 to settle the arrears and she is currently studying without being sent home. I also bought a sheep worth Kshs.3,800 which can produce milk for consumption. With the remaining amount, I bought food for my family.

I work as a mason and I was busy with work when I heard my phone ringing and vibrating loudly and upon checking, it was a Mpesa notification message showing that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I could not believe at first that I was that rich till I had to re-read the message and I was overwhelmed with joy after confirming that it was indeed true. This was the best news that I had received that early morning and it gave me hope that my goal of building a permanent house would soon be realized.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to start a poultry-keeping project. I was able to purchase 10 chickens using part of my transfer and my aim is to continue buying more till it reaches a point where I will be earning KES 500 a day. I settled on this project since it does not require a lot of capital and close monitoring as one can operate it alongside other projects.

Building a permanent house has always been my desire since it's dust-free and takes a few minutes to clean. Because of this, I spent KES 18000 from my transfer to purchase some building materials like gravel, sand, bricks, polythene bag, binding wire and steel after tithing KES 5000. I still have KES 25000 that I am planning to use in buying cement and to pay for the labor. Also, I spent KES 2500 to buy 10 chicken as an investment. I will be selling eggs and use the money to cater for my family's daily basic needs.
