What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to involve my self in large scale farming, buy a cow worth $405 from which my family will be able to get milk for consumption, then use $539 to acquire land for both farming and staying since this place Shilayi is not safe. Last year in 2022 my gardens did not yield much I will also buy fertilizer worth $81 so that this year I can be able to get much yields. This money means a lot to us as a family because development will be made possible that when Give Directly Officers return to visit us after the 1st installment, they will find progress and sure be pleased because well be able to sustain ourselves.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am so happy to say in the last 6 months, I was able to sell my harvested Coffee planted on two acres of land and got $108 which I used to clear school fees for my three children in Primary level and also bought one goat at $ 54k . Though the season was not favorable, I manage to get one bag of beans that is 100kg, which we fed on since it was a little hard to acquire a good meal for me and my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My challenge right now is lack of finances. This has made it so hard for me to acquire basic needs, like food, school fees for my children. I have always wished to own a cow for the purpose of milk production for consumption for my family and acquire land for large scale farming, but it has not been possible due to no money.
