How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved because I have acquired more Livestock ( a calf). After 5 years, I will be in position to marry. Before the transfer, I had only one which was not enough. Secondly, I'm in the process of building my dream permanent house. In the past, I could not because I did not have money to buy building materials. I'm also very happy because this semester, I have paid tuition for my brother easily. Previously, we always depended on loans.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by enabling to buy Livestock and paying tuition for my brother who was going to be chased away from school.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I paid tuition for my young brother who is doing nursing, bought Livestock ( a calf ) and transport.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness to be able to make bricks that will build an iron sheet roofed house before strong rains return to haunt me in a grass thatched house that leaks.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received my money, I felt happy because this money would help me ease burden of life especially by assisting my brother finish school and building my own iron sheet house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent first transfer to pay school fees for my brother, paid labour for making bricks, bought two piglets and hired cultivation land for two years.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to marry a woman that I can finally settle with as a wife, buy a piece of land that I can farm in.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am chatting with fellow youths in the community.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of land that I would otherwise cultivate to get food.
