How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I am now living a confident life as I own my personal plot of land that I will construct on soon and move out my uncles' land. Before getting this plot of land, I used to stay with my uncles who pressured me to leave their home and get my own as they said they could not keep me for long since they also had their own children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by giving money into my community that has enabled people to improve their standard of living in terms of housing, assets among others. To me, it has helped give a sense of belonging as I have managed to get my personal plot of land. On the other hand, GiveDirectly has done all its work well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of my second transfer to buy a plot of land at Ugx 1200000 and then later bought a female calf at Ugx 330000. I used the balance to cater for my personal needs like buying clothes, utensils and feeding.
