How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal has always been to have a canoe and a fishing net to begin my fishing work. The town that I live in is closer to the Cestos river. But I have not been able to buy a canoe and a fishing net due to the lack of finance. I have been doing farming work to feed my family. The proceeds generated from the farm have not been able to buy me a canoe and a fishing net. I am very grateful to GiveDirectly for this helped. It has enable me get a fishing net to begin my fishing business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done so much for my family and I. It is because of GiveDirectly that I am about to start a fishing business. I am a farmer, who make little from my farming activities. What I get from the farm are used to feed my family at home. So I am very happy for the helped received from GiveDirectly. As for things done unwell by GD, I am not in the know of any.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my last transfer on the purchase of fishing net. I have seven children and a wife to take care of. Supporting them everyday is a challenge. This is why I spent most of my transfers on getting a canoe and a fishing net to start a fishing business.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Through the help of Givedirectly, I have been feeling so fine in my heart because life has not been easy for me and my family over the passed years because of poverty. I am having four children that are in school. I was so much happy happy when I receive my first transfer from GiveDirectly. I have built one big house that my family and I are staying in but it is incomplete. Through the first transfer, I was able to buy 10 bags of cement to plaster my house with one mattress to sleep on along with a bag of rice for the feeding of my family. When I receive my second transfer, I was able to buy a one floor mat to cover the ground in my room. The floor have not been fixed because of no money. I also used portion of the second transfer to buy fishing nets to empower myself in the future and save money to sustain me and my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly have done pretty much well by reaching out to every deserving households in my village. Therefore, through that means they were able to determined their eligibility during the enrolment process. This was fair enough, so in my opinion about what is not done well by GiveDirectly, I believe that there is nothing noticed. I just want say thank you to Givedirectly for such great opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The room that I am sleeping in is not completed. I have been sleeping in it with the ground just looking like that. When I receive the second transfer, I was able to use portion of it to buy floor mat for my room to make it look decent. The remaining portion of the money, I used some of it to buy fishing nets for business purposes because I do not want to go out of cash when the transfer from Givedirectly stops coming. My children tuitions was also paid through the same transfer because I need them to have quality education for a better jobs opportunities in the future.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I cut sticks and take to business women to sell. The money I make is not enough to cater to my family. Out of my 12 children, I was only capable to register 7 of them in school. I have been wondering where to get money from to pay my children tuition next school year. I was so excited when I saw my payment. This is a great opportunity to improve my family life. Being enrolled in this program will change our lives for the best.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
One of the most important differences in my life since I started receiving payments is the place I sleep. I have been sleeping on mat for so many years. I now have a brand new and comfortable mattress to sleep on. This is so overwhelming. I can now eat on time. I am so grateful for this life changing opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was so happy when I received my payment. I used some of my transfer to pay my children tuition. I also bought a mattress for myself. I used a little amount to buy a bag of rice and some other food items. I used some of my payment to buy a backpack. I saved a little amount to that when I receive other payments I will add up to plaster my house.
