Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I can not read so I gave the phone to my friends to read the message for me. When they confirmed that it is a cash transfer from GiveDirectly I was so happy. I had been sad for a long time because my business was not growing.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
If there are people who are so grateful to receive this cash from GiveDirectly, then I am at the very top. I am so thankful for it has changed my life. My business is now growing. I am able to make profits and help my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been selling groceries in my shop in this village but when I was being enrolled in the project my business was not developing in any way because of lack of capital. I was just selling a few groceries to keep customers. When I received the cash, my wife and I agreed that we should invest the money in the grocery shop business. Atleast we were able to meet our basic needs, the only challenge were facing was with the capital for growing the business.
