How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I did not receive these transfers my lufe would have been very difficult because I could not have started the rice selling business that I have and I could not have planned to build the house that I am planning on building.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did a good job in our village. The program is a good idea and we only wish we received more transfers so that we can complete some of the things that we planned.

I used the transfer to start a rice selling business which I am doing up to now. I am also planning on using some of the funds to build a house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was a joyous moment when I received this transfer from GiveDirectly. I and my family have been wearing happy faces since then.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The most visible and biggest difference is that I can now be able to have enough food for the whole family. Previously we used to eat once a day but now we do have meals atleast twice a day.

When i got the transfer I managed to buy iron sheets to finish off roofing my house. Additionally I bought 2 goats for rearing so that they should help me in the long term. I also purchased 2 bags of fertilizer, beddings, and 5 bags of maize so that my household should have enough food during this period of hunger.
