As you can see I already built this 3 roomed house for my family. However, I am yet to be fully satisfied with its condition. Hence, when I receive these funds I plan on improving it by having it cemented on the floor and plastered both in and outside. I believe that way it will offer me and my family the comfort we've always desired. With respect to the current prices, I believe this would cost about $300. Having done that, I plan on buying 12 bags of maize, at $30 each, for food. I am confident this would be sufficient for food security in my household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I find happiness and meaning in life when I am having meals with my family, specifically lunch and supper. My favourite relish is chicken and whenever I am having this with my family it soothes my soul.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Back in 2018 I lost about 2 acres of my farm land to floods, this land got washed away. This has negatively impacted me and my family since we have been unable to attain a sufficient harvest from the 1 acre that is remaining. We used to get about 7 bags of maize from our field but currently we only manage to get a single bag of maize as food for the 4 of us. Due to this, we are facing a hunger crisis in my household at present, as the said bag only lasts 2 weeks. As I speak to you, this has already been depleted in April this year. Since then, we rely on pieceworks where my husband, Yohane Sifa is at rightnow, to get food.
