How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I had never recieved the transfer, I would still be very poor.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, give directly has done well giving me money that has greatly helped me mostly during the femine period. It has also enabled me to build a better house than the one I had. In my opinion, give directly has done nothing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy some building materials such as soil, nails, iron sheets that I am already using in building my house. I also bought a cow that will act as my personal investment.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I receieved my first transfer, I paid bride price to my in-laws of 370,000ugx in cash, I bought food for my family with 400,000ugx since this money came at a time when my family did not have enough food. I normally plant cotton as a cash crop and I bought Cotton seeds at 40,000ugx. The balance of 890,000ugx, I intend to start the construction of a permanent house for the family to stay in.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received my first transfer, I became happy because I would be saved from hunger that was in the family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now eat a balanced diet which had been history in my household. I have gained self worth with the house I will start constructing, it has put a smile on my face. Thank you Givedirectly for supporting my family.
