How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago, because l am now staying in a nice iron roofed house where l do not need to worry when it is raining.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to improve my business of selling vegetable to get more profit.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that l am now staying in iron roofed house, as compared before when I was staying in a thatched leaky house, where l was being rain on. I have also ashamed the enemies who were laughing at me who even went ahead of naming my house as nest of a hawk. I no longer borrow basin from my neighbors, when l want to wash since l have my own.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months l expect to have improve my business and getting enough profit.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I have a leaky grass thatched house. Everyone in the village knows that I am suffering. My new goal is to put up an iron roofed house. My children will have a warmer place to sleep. Our problems will not be visible to everyone like it has always been.GiveDirectly has made me have a goal that I have never thought could cross my mind.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Were it not for this transfer, I would still be spending the 100 KES as my household expenditure. This has never been enough though I always have to fix my budget. Since I received this money, My budget has increased, my children are able eat to their fill. My children dress so well now. I, no longer have to borrow clothes when going for safaris.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change for the best. I am hopeful that in the next six months, My iron roofed house will be up. The newest in the village. Thank you GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I used to do a lot of hard labor mostly in people's farms which could mostly leave me,weak and out of breath. After a whole day work, I was only paid 150 KES. Its is discouraging and health deteriorating. I received money from GiveDirectly and I experienced a real turn of events. For sometime now, I am only working on my farm. I have relaxed and my strength is back. This is the biggest difference in my daily life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is living in a leaky-thatched house. I am never at peace especially during rainy seasons, for instance the current situation, because when it rains everything in my house gets wet and messed up.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I wake up because the ability to see a new day is God's mercy upon me.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on purchasing construction materials (iron -sheets, timber, nails, cement, sand) and constructing a semi-permanent house. I have a desire to build a new house because the current one is crowded, leaky and dilapidated.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement was the decision I made to join a merry-go-round scheme. I save the little money I earn from casual labour (washing other people's clothes) through this scheme, which enables me to meet my needs like acquisition of decent clothes and kitchen ware.
