How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life has greatly improved because f the break I have taken form daily menial jobs. Initially, I used to find food for the family only from doing menial jobs for very little wages. This, in turn, exhausted me and caused my own farms to remain unattended. The money from GiveDirectly broke a hunger cycle because I got money to buy food and hence got time and inputs to grow food crops and tend to my own farm. We, therefore, do not go through extreme hunger like previously.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have to continue saving in a merry go round group in order to raise enough money form the transfers to buy a dairy cow. I need milk for, my young children, every day and buying the commodity is very expensive. I will reduce the high cost of living when I have a cow of my own.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference is the fact that my children's school fees and wellbeing are well catered for. I used the transfers over the last four months to pay the school fees and also bought them school uniforms and stationeries. It makes me happy to see them jovially running to school with everything they need having been provided for just like the other kids from the village.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have a better source of income and food from my dairy cow and the food crops from the farm. I will buy a cow using the savings that I make using part of every month's transfer. I will also be having a proper garden with all sorts of vegetables and food crops.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I have now built a spacious house which is enough to accommodate all my family members. This is because in the past, we were living in a small house and this is where we cook and at the same time where we sleep. This used to worry me a lot because my children cannot get enough space to play in the evening while in the house .
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I am planning to buy a dairy cow. This is because in table banking the money I will get will be enough to buy a dairy cow. Currently I buy milk which is expensive and so if I get a dairy cow I will be able to save more money and use to buy food for my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have now built a new house. In the past, I was living in a small house which was congested and sometimes when I get visitors they have to go to sleep in my mother-in-law's house which is not good and lowers my dignity. My children also could not get enough space to play in the evening while in the house.I am now happy since I have built a spacious house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next months in that I will be having a new house and thus will be able to accommodate all my family members.I will also be able to have enough space to host all my visitors whenever they visited my family and that will be my joy. In the next six months I will also be having enough milk for my family and sell surplus milk to earn income and start a new business.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I would like to purchase a sheep and a cow. Sheep multiply faster so it will help me save to buy cow. I will buy a dairy cow because milk give good returns in my locality..
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I did not have chicken but, thanks to the transfer I own some right now. Once they multiply I will sell the eggs to earn an income which will help me in meeting household needs. I used to depend only on availability of casual farm work to provide for my family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In six months to come, I see my self not going for casual work any longer or if I do it would be very few times as compared to times proceeding these transfers. I will be depending more on my farm produce and other income generating avenues that I am yet to embark on i.e a small chicken business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I can now provide for my family, I used to do casual jobs in order to put food on the table. Especially now the drought is so intense at the moment and it is almost impossible to get casual farm work despite this I bought enough food for my family, therefore I am contented that I would not struggle a lot I am happier and settled.
