How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I am currently a livestock owner unlike before when the only things that belonged to me were just a few clothes and the children. I bought two goats that are now an investment. They will multiply and possibly give me enough money to buy a cow. I also have the savings in a merry go round group. I would only be focusing on providing food if I did not have this support from GiveDirectly. I am so empowered and this life has simply become what I would want to live so proudly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I plan to buy more goats in order to help me in the near future. I will use them to buy a dairy cow. Thi sis intended to establish a source of income that will be my family's income bedrock.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the issue of food in my household. I manage to provide for my family during the current famine. Our food crops did not do well the last season. We have to buy everything for food every day and this is quite expensive Were it not for GiveDirectly, my family and I would be facing starvation right now. I am happy that despite the harsh season where food prices have soared high, my efforts in menial jobs for wages together with the money I get from the Organisation have become sufficient.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months because I hope to have bought a dairy cow. I currently spend a lot of money on a daily basis because besides buying foodstuffs like maize, I also buy milk for use in the household which has been too expensive for me to easily manage, this difficulty will be no more in the next six months.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago. I managed to start a poultry farm. I majored in keeping the layers because I felt eggs were in high demand in this region. Nowadays I can brag to be a stable source of income from the sales of these eggs. I no longer do many casual jobs like I used to do before I started this business. I thank Give Directly for giving me the capital to start this project.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal for the next four months is to start saving enough money that will help me construct a bigger house. I want to start buying building materials bit by bit such that by the time six months elapses I will have enough materials to build a spacious house for my family. We currently have one house which cannot comfortably host all my family members.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I finally managed to start a poultry farm. It has been my goal for a long time now. This project earns me enough income which enables me to meet my family's daily expenses. I am still able to save some amount for emergencies after settling the daily needs which were not possible before when I still depended on casual jobs. Initially, I would do several casual jobs in a day but still, It was not enough to buy food and meet all the basic needs of my family. At times my children could not get all the meals because most of my hours were spent looking for a job. On the bad days, I would get none which meant my kids would not eat at all. This used to hurt me so much. I'm so happy now I have a continuous source of income that enables me to provide for my family
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have completed the house that I'm currently planning to build. Then I will plan on expanding my poultry project.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago since we currently have enough food in our family unlike before when we could afford a meal a day. My husband and I mainly depend on casual jobs and the fact that that they pay low and they are hardly found in our area makes it hard for us to provide for our family. The consistent monthly transfer from GiveDirectly has enabled us to provide for our family basic needs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The new goal that I have for my life in the next four months is to build a new house. Currently, we reside in a one-roomed house that makes me uncomfortable to live in with my growing children. Hence, I have opted to prioritize on building a bigger house that will comfortably accommodate us while attracting more privacy. I will save the transfers from GiveDirectly to facilitate the building.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is the financial efforts that I have gained through the transfers from GiveDirectly. I am now able to provide and care for my nephew. I decided to support him after finding out that his mother was not responsible enough to take care of his (the boy's) bright future. Initially, the thought of supporting my nephew seemed impossible since I am a jobless mother that depends primarily on casual jobs to attain the basic needs of my family. I was always stressed and regretful whenever he was not at school due to lack of fees. Since I started receiving the transfer from GiveDirectly I have been able to pay his school fees and even remain with some money for financing other basic needs. Hence, I have found lots of happiness to have the boy proceeding with his studies while we get most of our basic needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will have completed building my new house. As a result, I will gain significant self-esteem and respect from my family and the immediate community. I will be happy and more confident to welcome visitors to my home following the decency of the new house.
