What does receiving this money mean to you?
The perpetual payments of house rent since my arrival in this town from Maryland county early 2021, where I originated from has been so tendious that I haven't been realizing any cash to save from my farm produce and petty business. Because of this condition I have planned to build myself a house to avoid paying rent . Furthermore, I have a planned to upgrade my business to a larger level with 40% of any amount of cash transfer received from GiveDirectly after the 60% of the total amount is used to construct myself a house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite the many hardships, I always feel proud of myself whenever I returned from work or selling and are with my daughter in the evening hours . My daughter is my heartbeat that without her being close to me within a day I feel incomplete the fact there is nobody to take the motherly care I usually give her.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Being a mother of a child who depending on petty farming to survive and pay house rent is a stressful issue. The continual payments of house rent is a main challenge I faced with since my arrival. Sometimes I denied myself a food just to meet up with my rent payments because my spouse usually spent majority of the months in a year on gold field which on many occasions he returns with nothing.
