How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The difference in my life in the last four months is that I have a solar system in my house. This is courtesy of GD transfers which I do receive on a monthly basis. I was really straining buying kerosene on a daily basis yet I did not have an income to sustain it. My children had to study at night hence I had to really sacrifice to buy enough kerosene. I thought of a better way to handle the situation and the way out was to buy a solar panel. This is why I bought the solar panel on a hire purchase basis and I am glad I have finished paying for it. Right now I do not strain as I used to in terms of daily expenditure. My children do finish their homework in time unlike before.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have a new goal of boosting my foodstuff business. This is because I have many demands with very minimal income. I have always ended up using business money for my personal life which has really affected the business. This is why I would want to add more stock to the business so that It may not collapse.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have always desired to build a kitchen where I would cook in and also provide a sleeping place for my children. Due to the small income from small foodstuff business, It only remained to be a dream. Since my house was not big enough to accommodate cooking, I was forced to cook outside. All was well until it came the rainy season. Such times, I would find it hard to cook because my cooking place was being rained on. I was forced to find another way of cook which was using charcoal. It was very expensive buying charcoal on a daily basis due to the low income I had. I knew the solution was to build a kitchen. This is why I used my transfers to buy building materials for putting up the kitchen. Anytime I walk out of my house and see that kitchen, I give thanks to God for GD.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I plan to save the transfers and use the savings to boost my foodstuff business. Right now, I do not have much stock and I building a good customer base. I know very soon the demand will surpass my stock and I would not want to lose customers because I cannot serve their needs well. This is why I plan to boost the business and make maximum profit from it when I can.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Through the transfers I got from Give Directly I was able to restock my cereal business. I managed to add several types of cereals some of them have never been planted in that village. This has attracted more customers hence recording more profits. This has enabled me to comfortably meet the family's needs. In addition to that, I have been saving some money in our merry-go-round group. This group entails members who are all beneficiaries of Give Directly. I used the savings to construct a kitchen which serves as my kids sleeping room and also acts as a granary store. This is how different my life is currently is from how it would have been had I not received the transfers.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I'm currently running a cereal shop. It is the only shop in this locality, therefore, the sales are good. I am happy through the transfers I got from Give Directly I was able to expand it. For the next four months of my life, I have an additional goal of restocking the business with a variety of cereals I haven't stocked in my shop so that I retain my current customers and even attract more. This will guarantee me more profit in the future. I'll be able to earn more money which will enable me to comfortably meet my family's needs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Being able to meet the basic needs like food is one of the greatest achievements and most peaceful moments of my life. This is because through the transfers I have been able to follow my budget and meet most of our daily needs. Initially, we could barely afford anything. The situation was so bad that we couldn't even afford to buy salt. Currently, I do not borrow such household items because I'm able to budget well. The idea of giving out unconditional transfers by Give Directly is a good idea and I pray that God will bless them so that they continue helping other people in other regions.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I was able to construct a kitchen using transfers I got from Give Directly. Even though I wasn't able to plaster it, I am happy I was able to build a bigger and more stable structure compared to what I had initially. I decided to smear it with clay. The clay isn't strong enough this means that the walls won't last for long. In the next six months, I expect to have saved enough money so that I can use to cement the walls and the floor. I am happy my long term goal of building a bigger house came to pass. I will be happier if I cement it because it would make it stronger and last longer.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I plastered my house. I have always felt its costly to hire someone to plaster my house on monthly basis. I tried doing it myself and I could not keep up with the pace as I am growing old day by day. I wanted to use the money for hiring others to smear my house on other more important and urgent family needs. I am glad I was able to buy cement and sand bit by bit with the transfers and used it to plaster my house. The house now looks stronger and presentable which does not portray the kind of poverty I am in.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start cereals business. I have always wanted to have this business because I know in my area with this kind of business, I will earn much profit to help me be financially stable and provide for my family needs in time. I would not want to struggle anymore.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have a new kitchen which was just a dream for me. It has been my desire to have a kitchen where my children will sleep and I will do the cooking comfortably especially during the rainy season where the rains fall on my cooking place affecting our meal time. In most cases, during the rainy season, we would be forced to cook using kerosene stove which was very costly to buy kerosene on a daily basis, unlike firewood which is readily available in our area. I am glad I have the kitchen which I have always wanted and I feel so much at peace. Thanks to GD.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I want to boost the cereal busuiness which I will start with part of the transfers in the next four months. I would want to invest in the business so that we don't go back to where we were before the transfers. I would want to keep up the pace set by Gd transfers. I would not want to beg anymore.
