What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I constructed a semi-permanent house of 24 iron sheets and bought 2 goats, a sheep and cow. I feel more contented now since I have most of the things I dreamt of in life.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because, first I paid dowry for my wife with the second transfer-this helped me a lot since it brought love and happiness in my household. Before I settled the dowry, the in-laws were on my neck and I never had peace and love at all. Again, I live in a better house as opposed to the leaky one I lived in before and finally, my economic status has improved-I have acquired more wealth: cows, sheep and goats courtesy of Give Directly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What Give Directly did well was leaving the participation voluntary but it never did well to leave villages of non-participants since there are poorest who needed the money but due to mass non-participation, they were barred.
